    1 week before

    • Print or download all confirmations (hotels, ferry tickets, car rentals, tours)

    • Set up international cell phone plan if not offered by your provider by default

    • Make a packing list and start laying things out

    • Do your laundry

    • Trim down your wallet — bring only what you need; 1–2 cards, license, and passport

    • Download entertainment for the flight (Netflix shows, books, playlists)

    • Charge all devices and power banks

    • Refill prescriptions & pack meds

    • Check your airlines’ luggage weight requirements

    The day before you leave

    • Empty fridge of perishables

    • Take out trash

    • Set thermostat/AC for energy savings

    The day of

    • Double-check passport, wallet, and phone

    • Have small bills handy for taxis or tips on arrival
